As I wrote in this post Kitano Tenmangu Shrine – pray for success in examinations, Kitano tenmagu shrine is one of the best shrines to pray for success in their studies and examinations. A half million people come to pray for their wishes only in 3 days between January 1st and 3rd here.

The stone statue of the resting cow lying stretched out, has its connection with the shrine’s special agricultural rituals. The cow is considered to be a symbol of good harvest.

It’s huge. I’ve never seen this big Ema before here. This must be here only in January for Hatsumode.

The old wing was built in 1930 as the mansion of Euimin, crown prince of Korea. It is now a french restaurant called “Le Trianon”.

Today, I was walking around Togetsukyo bridge(the landmark) in Arashiyama to enjoy its autumn foliage. Even though you don’t go to temples or shrines, you can enjoy many things to see in Arashiyama.

The Japanese maple is called “Momiji” in Japanese.

The leaves on trees changed to red, yellow and orange, coating the mountains in brilliant colors.

A lot of tourists come to Arashiyama to see the autumn foliage.

Tofukuji temple is one of the busiest and famous temples of Kyoto in autumn. The purpose of all the visitors is autumn leaf viewing. This temple has many beautiful autumn leaves from the end of October to the beginning of December.

The best time to see autumn leaves in most temples is the middle of November to the end of November.

This temple is a must if you come to Kyoto in autumn.

It should be crowded on this bridge in autumn. Lots of people see this nice view here.

The leaves now turn yellow anywhere in Japan.

Kokkai is pretty much right next to Kokyo and 10 minutes away from Tokyo station by walk.

It says “Kokkai-mae(国会前)” which means in front of The National Diet of Japan.

The 18-meter-tall Gundam is facing the tracks near JR Higashi Shizuoka Station(東静岡駅, Higashi Shizuoka Eki).
This Gundam was put on display to commemorate the 30th anniversary of TV broadcasts of the “Mobile Suit Gundam” series.

We drove here from Tokyo. It took for a couple of hours.

The real grade gundam is right next to JR Higashi Shizuoka station.

People are heading to see the Gundam.

This festival is called “Shizuoka Hobby Fair”.

It takes 20 mins for the event called “Touch and Walk” at this moment. It’s the event which you can take pictures or walk thru right under the Gundam.

Inokashira park(井の頭公園) always tells you each season like flower viewing (which is called ohanami) in the spring, and the autumn colors (which is called Koyo) in the fall.
Kichijoji is a very quiet area with great access to the restaurants and stores to shop.

I take Inokashira line(井の頭線) from Shibuya station.

A authentic Japanese cafe “カルディ(Kaldi)”.

I was not allowed to take a photo at Kaldi. But their cinnamon flavored coffee was pretty good.

So I googled it and what my friend is talking about was right. Google showed me several articles for the vending machine. I was really interested in checking the vending machine.

It is located right in front of a book store “Book1st” in Shibuya. The banana is named “Bobby Banana”. Bobby Banana is sold by international leading banana distributor “Dole”.
Bobby banana being sold by the vending machine is available either at 130 yen per piece or 390 yen per bunch, which is 2-4 times more expensive than its supermarket price.
