Sannomiya is located in a very convenient area which has JR, Hankyu and Hanshin Kobe station.
It takes 18 mins from Portliner Sannomiya station to Kobe airport. The trains come every 10 mins.
After or before you get to Kobe airport, you can go shopping or eat lunch/dinner in Sannomiya.
Sannomiya has 9 big department stores which are Daimaru, Sogo, Opa, Marui, Loft, Tokyu Hands, Hanshin, Mint Kobe and Vivre.
Most of them have restaurants and souvenir stores as well.
Take a Portliner after you get to Hankyu or JR Sannomiya station.

You can see Hanshin Sannomiya station and Sogo on the right-hand side.

Almost there if you walk down along Opa.

Thanks for posting this – it’s been really useful for me. I’ll send the link to visitors whenever they are coming into Kobe from the airport, and I’ve told them to wait for me at the Portliner gates in Sannomiya.
