Finally, you arrive in Japan. You must be tired because of the flight but excited about what you are doing or what’s going on in Japan.
But if you need to go to Osaka first by plane, you need to transfer here or go to Haneda by bus and then transfer to Itami at Haneda airport.
I’m going to introduce how to transfer to go to Itami airport at Narita airport.
Actually that’s really simple and easy. Literally, turn left and go straight after you get to the gate. At this point, you should already have picked up your luggage and finish the process at the immigration.
You see this sign after turn left at the gate.
JAL Domestic Check-in Counter to check you luggage
After you check you luggage, you go upstairs for security checks.
The sign that shows where you have to go for departure
Long flat escalator.
Almost there.
Are you hungry or thirsty? Grab something to eat here. They have Japanese noodles, magazines, snacks, water, tea, pop and so on.
This is the first thing that I bought in Japan. This is a bottle of tea called IEMON. I love it.
If you go to the gate between 63-67, just sit here. Go downstairs for A or B.
The escalator to go to A, B and the bathroom.
This is the downstairs to wait for you flight.
Oops. I need to take a bus to get my flight. Everybody is waiting.
Yes. This is the right place to go.
This is the bus that takes you to your airplane.
Just 5 minutes to ride on the bus.
Domestic aircraft. Everyone looks tired but happy
One hour and a half to go to Osaka
Arrived at Itami airport
Turn left to pick up your luggage.
Long passage.
Exit and Baggage Claim.
Pick up your luggage here
Exit to take a taxi, bus and train.
Hi, thanks for your detailed steps, may I ask how much does it cost to take the domestic plane? Any usefulness if I have the JR pass? I am planning to travel to Osaka from Narita Airport this October.
Do you think its worthwhile to get the JR pass if I am just visiting Tokyo and Osaka ( and perhaps Kyoto) ?
Thanks in advance.
@Agnes: Thank you for the comment. It costs about 10,000 yen to 20,000 yen from Narita to Osaka. But if you have JR pass, I totally recommend you to take JR than take airplane.
Because if you get off at JR Osaka or Kyoto station, you can go anywhere easily like Downtown Osaka which is Umeda or Downtown Kyoto which is Shijo Kawaramachi.
But if you take an airplane, it’s less convenient to go these places.
Hi, thanks so much for your reply. Its my first time visiting Japan and I am trying to understand how their transportation works.
Based on your recommendation, I will get my JR pass then.
Thank you and have a nice day!
