Japan was the first country to inaugurate a 3G network in 2001, when NTT DoCoMo which is the largest mobile carrier in japan, started to provide 3G services.
Since Japanese consumers no longer buy 2G phones, these will soon disappear completely from the market.
Anyway, I’ve been using 2G cellphone for 5 years and I have a contract with Softbank that is the third largest mobile carrier.
But they are going to stop the service for 2G cellphones from April. That means I needed to change my 2G phone to 3G phone.
Then I decided to get IPhone which I’ve really wanted. Softbank is the only carrier that sells iPhone in Japan. Fortunately, I have a contract with them.
And the reason why I got iPhone is easy to upload new information or what’s happening in Japan on Twitter or Facebook, cool and I love Apple stuff.
I’m at Softbank to get iPhone.
I thought it would take time to change a phone but it took only for 40 mins including the explanation about how to use iPhone and filling in the contract.
iPhone box.
I put a wannagotojapan.com sticker on the back. It’s really nice!!
Sayonara for my old cellphone. I won’t forget you.
Nice choice! I’m also loving my iPhone here in Canada.
Thanks. Yeah, iPhone is much more sleek than I expected!! And actually you are the very first guy who commented here, Travis!! Do you know any good apps?
I will buy it in Australia!!!
@Mana: Nice!! But you need to make a two-year contract, don’t you?
I’ve heard there is a 1 year contract! good for me!
@Mana: That’s good for you but must be expensive for only 1 year contract, no?
This is where you guys hang out now, eh?
@Jey: Yeah exactly, I introduce anything about Japan here. Thank you for coming our site, Jey.
