Continued from Amanohashidate(天橋立) – vol.1, I’m now getting on the cable car to go to “Kasamatsu Park(傘松公園)” to try “Matanozoki” (peek between your legs) from the deck. With your back to the sea, bend down, look through your legs so that the sand bar appears to be a land bridge to heaven.
I got out of Kono Shrine to catch the cable car.
“この先100m ケーブル乗り場”!! 100 more meters to get on the cable car.
Souvenir stores and cafe along the street.
Tsuruya Shokudo(restaurant).
The souvenir store.
The other souvenir store right next to the stop for the cable cars.
Here it is!! It took about an hour to get here from the beach.
People are waiting for the next cable car.
The ticket store.
Kids got tan a lot during the summer vacation.
I’m waiting for the cable car.
You could choose either the cable car or the lift to climb up the mountain.
There it is!!
The cable car comes every 15 mins.
Still waiting.
I’m going to peek between my legs like the kids on this photo.
Inside the cable car.
Here we go!!
They are going down the mountain.
Looks pretty comfortable over there. I’ll get on the lift when I’m going back.
Arrived!!
The view from the stop.
The restaurant and souvenir store at Kasamatsu park.
Very beautiful.
Peek between the legs like him.
This is the deck.
I took a picture of the view to peek my legs.
かわらけ投げ(Kawarake Nage). If you managed to throw small plates into the ring, your wish might come true.
100 yen for the 3 plates. Put 100 yen coin in this box.
Apparently, this is how you throw the plates.
This is the ring. It’s about 10 meters away from where I am. I couldn’t make it.
I love this view. Now I understand why Amanohashidate is selected one of the three most scenic views.
かさぼう(Kasabo) – a mascot of Kasamatsu Park in Amanohashidate.
He is it! I asked him “Aren’t you hot?” because it’s 35 degrees in Amanohashidate today. But he said “No”. He must be a professional to be Kasabo.
Kids at Kasamatsu park.
100 yen to see the view of Amanohashidate with this telescope.
Two electric fans.
Got on the lift. Nice view. If you are afraid of heights, you shouldn’t get on this.
The cable car is going up the mountain.
I saw many kids and family.
I’m getting off the lift.
A store to rent a bike.
I’m getting on the boat. It’s only 600 yen to go back to the beach.
Black one is also petty cool.
Bye Kono Shrine and Kasamatsu park.
It’s pretty fast and exciting!!
I love this boat.
The small harbor is there.
Thanks man!! That was pretty fun. It took 40 – 50 mins to walk from the beach to the place where I got the cable car. But it took only 4,5 mins by the boat coming back to the beach. I think 600 yen is pretty cheap for this kind of attraction.
hi there… thank you for posting this! am now looking forward to travel there next month!
@cubie: No problem. Have fun in Amanohashidate!
Hi there, I and my friends will be visiting Amanohashidate(天橋立) this week in Japan. Care to share where is the place to rent the Speed Boat. Any landmarks? It looks cheap. Is it at the pier of Kono Shrine ?
@Sam: If you are going to Kasamatsu park which is the landmark of Amanohashidate, you can get the boat at “Yamazaki Boat(山崎ボート)” next to Chionji(智恩寺) temple and it’s located right before you across Shotenkyo(小天橋) bridge(you can check it in this post Amanohashidate(天橋立) – vol.1).
And When you come back to Amanohashidate from the Kasamatsu park or Miyazu Pier, you can get the boat next to the Mipple Shopping Center in Hamacho.
In case you can’t manage to get the boat, you could ask people “boat noriba wa doko desuka” which means “Where can I get the boat?”.
I hope you have fun in Amanohashidate.
