Togetsukyo(Togetsu Bridge) spans the Oi River, Arashiyama. This bridge is very famous for its cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, enhances the elegance of Arashiyama. In those seasons, many tourists come here to enjoy it. Togetsu means moon crossing. The present bridge, designed as if it melts into the beautiful scenery of Arashiyama, was built in 1934. It’s also enjoyable to go boating in this area.
Arashiyama Shopping Area
There are many souvenir stores near Togetsukyo. After you get off the train at Arashiyama Station, walk to the Togetsukyo. You can see many stores along the street.
Chikurin no michi
After you walk down Togetsukyo from the south to the north,
You can see the path which is surrounded by bamboo.
People say that “If you go to Chikurin no mori, you can feel the typical traditional Kyoto” which means really old Japanese city.
This bamboo is really gorgeous. I’m sure that will attract you so much.
Tenryuji temple
Tenryuji temple is the first-ranked of the Five Great Zen Temples of Kyoto.
The temple was established in 1339 by Shogun Ashikaga Takauji on the site of the Kameyama Detached Palace. Tenryuji, or as it is formally known Tenryu Shiseizen-ji, is the head temple of the Tenryu sect of Rinzai Zen Buddhism. Tenryuji temple was created in honor of Gautama Buddha, and was founded by Ashikaga Takauji.
Arashiyama was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

Arashiyama Monkey Park
Not many people know Arashiyama has the monkey park. There are a lot of wild monkeys, which are living in the wooded mountains of Iwatayama. You walk up the mountain from Togetsukyo Bridge about 15-20 mins.
